No need to collect money, this site does it for you.  All you need is the desire to make a difference!!

Did you know that?
• As a Habitat for Humanity Affiliate Organization, we independently coordinate all aspects of Habitat home building in our area—including our own fundraising?

• In order to build homes, Fox Valley Habitat needs to raise ~ $120,000 for each home?

In the past, we have built two to four homes each year largely funded by corporate sponsors.  All of those sponsors were impacted by the economic crisis and we find ourselves struggling in 2010 to make up the funds lost.    In 2009 the housing crisis has forced over $1500 foreclosures in the immediate downtown Aurora area alone; resulting in as many or more displaced families in need of affordable housing.  Clearly there is much work to be done.   Please help us help the community!

Fox Valley Habitat For Humanity is a volunteer-driven organization. We welcome people from all walks of life to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with God and families in need. Though the vast majority have no construction experience or building skills, volunteers are involved in most phases of construction. By working side-by-side with the family who will live in the house, our volunteers experience for themselves the joy created when a family is able to realize their dream of home ownership.

Habitat volunteers contribute more than muscle. Creativity, strategy, and technical skills are among the many invaluable traits volunteers bring to the organization. With a minimal staff, Fox Valley Habitat For Humanity depends upon volunteer committees for support with projects like Family Selection, Family Support, Public Relations, Construction Skills Training, and Volunteer Services.

We invite volunteers to help us build, assist in the office, serve on committees, and help with special projects that benefit the organization. Time commitments vary; some volunteers dedicate every day of the week to Fox Valley Habitat For Humanity and others spend just a few hours each month working on projects. As a volunteer for Fox Valley Habitat For Humanity, you can choose to volunteer as little or as often as you would like. All of these positions are a tremendous help that directly or indirectly result in the construction of simple, decent homes.  As a ministry, Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity values the safety of children, our employees, volunteers, and the families we serve.  We want to take prudent measures to protect our human and material resources.  Therefore, volunteers may be checked against the National Sex Offender Registry.
